Hydro Vac is used for excavation and safely exposing underground infrastructure
SAP Contractors has invested in a hydro-vac excavation unit. Essentially hydro-vac excavation is a non-destructive method of excavation to quickly and safely expose underground infrastructure.
Hydro-Vac Services
Hydro-vac excavation has two primary components during the process. Stage one uses a long lance with a turbo nozzle to spray high pressurised water at the surface. Stage two the soil cover is liquefied, the resulting slurry is then simultaneously extracted by the second process of a powerful vacuum hose and stored in a debris tank onboard the Hydro-vac truck. Overall, hydro excavating has a number of benefits such as
- Non-destructive excavating process
- Idea excavation around underground infrastructure and services
- Ability to get in to tight spaces where diggers can't get too
- Pot holing for watermains and service exposure eg cable locations, gas pipes
- Piling
